LB Presents…Love & Lace

by kori, on february 14, 2013

happy valentine’s day LB lovelies! it’s been pretty darn cold here in colorado and southern california (50 degrees is cold for us!) so we’ve decided to turn up the heat on the one day devoted to all things love and feature some of our favorite looks for a boudoir photo session.

if you’ve never considered a boudoir session, here are a few reason why we think you should:

1. while the idea may sound scary, we believe boudoir photos are total confidence boosters. there is no denying that a day of fabulous hair, make-up, playful outfits and maybe a glass of champagne would make any lady feel lovely and beautiful.

2. SHOPPING! a boudoir photo shoot gives you the perfect opportunity to shop for those little things we’d all like to purchase but never have a reason to. we are total fans (and admittedly, slightly obsessed) of anything from intimately free people.

3. boudoir photos make the perfect gift for your boyfriend/fiance/husband, etc…or better yet, just for you!

whatever your relationship status this valentines day, treat yourself, or someone close to you with an amazingly thoughtful gift that will surely make jaws drop and hearts beat. xo.

LB PRESENTS…getting green in 2013

by jenny, on january 9, 2013

apparently it is not all that bad being (a shade of) green – especially when you are pantone‘s bold, luscious 2013 color of the year…woot!

you can’t go wrong with a good jewel-tone, am I right?  whether you love classic-glam style or a rustic-vintage look, this color is particularly versatile with any aesthetic.  the sophisticated nature of a rich, concentrated emerald adds delicious luxury to a black and white affair, while a more subtle variation can bring a warmth and earthiness when mixed with a soft, natural palette.  and ladies, it is hard to find a skin tone that doesn’t look radiant wearing this striking shade!  the use of emerald and gold is a classic match made in heaven, while we are also absolutely loving it combined with its sister hues, mint and aqua.

here are some examples of emerald looking lush in all sorts of textures, settings, and ways to inspire you to go green in 2013!

lb presents…ringing in a romantic new year

happy new year!! everyone at LB Events wants to wish you and yours a very, very happy new year full of great memories with the ones you love. we are so thankful for the support from all of you this past year and are so excited for what 2013 has in store!

- – -

around new year’s eve a few things come to mind – champagne, (more) glitter, fireworks…did we mention champagne? ringing in the new year is one of the most anticipated and romantic nights of the year – add some nuptials to all that excitement and you have got one heck of a party on your hands! gone are the days of tacky decorations, uncomfortable elastic party hats and choruses of noisy noise makers. here is a reason to ooh and aah over all the wonderful decor options surrounding this holiday!

the always fabulous green wedding shoes brought us this new year’s eve inspired shoot last year highlighting what would become some of our favorite 2012 trends! with a beautiful muted palette, pops of pink, gold ombre hues, and a little chevron print to boot, the metallic gold accents and luxurious feel give off all the decadence required of a new year’s eve soiree.

and of course we had to include a tasty drink recipe courtesy of marthastewart.com that will help you ring a ding ding in the new year with a little twist on the classic champagne toast!

directions:

in a small saucepan, boil ginger, sugar, and 1/4 cup water until syrupy, about 2 minutes.

pour through sieve into bowl, discarding solids.
(to store syrup, refrigerate in an airtight container, up to 1 week.)

pour 1 tablespoon syrup into each of 8 tall glasses.

top with sparkling wine, and gently stir.

enjoy!
