LB Presents…Plum Sage Flowers

Vendor love at first sight – that’s definitely how we feel about Plum Sage Flowers in Denver. These three flower gals are awesome, and they have the work to back it up!  We asked them a few questions about their business and upcoming season and here’s what they had to say:

How did you get your start?
After years working in flower shops in Boulder and Chicago, and on an organic farm in Boulder, owner Erin Hornstein was approached by several customers and friends to create wedding flowers. Her fresh and creative vision led to the creation of Plum Sage Flowers in the spring of 2005. By word of mouth, she began creating fabulous flowers for numerous weddings and special events.

What flower trends are you seeing for 2013 in Colorado?
Lots of colors and textures
Ombre, monocratic and color blocking designs with unique flower types
Softer color palettes accented with pops of brighter colors such as corals, peach/oranges and yellow
Wild and organic designs created with non-traditional flowers/textures and lush greenery, such as vines (blooming and foliage), ferns, berries and branches

What trends do you love right now?
The Plum Sage Ladies are loving nontraditional elements like wooden blooms, painted accents and fabric details. They’re a great way for a bride and groom’s personalities to shine!

Favorite venue(s) in Colorado
Caitlin: Zach’s Cabin- guests ride a snow cat to dinner!
Erin: Devil’s Thumb Ranch
Jenny: Crooked Willow Ranch

Your own favorite flowers
We love anything that is unique and that we don’t get to see year round! If we had to pick just one…
Caitlin: Clematis
Erin: French Tulips
Jenny: Poppies

We love working with them (stay tuned for our Gold Rush inspired photoshoot coming soon) and we know you will too! Now enjoy some lovely work from Plum Sage

LB Presents…Spring Tea

What can we say…Spring, we like you a lot (queue Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber here)! On Wednesday we were featured on 100 Layer Cake for our little spring shin dig, and we thought we’d share the photoshoot here – just in case you missed it the first time around. Maybe it’s just us, but we can’t stop ooohh-ing and ahhh-ing over this color palette! Ashley Sawtelle Photography captured the entire day in both digital and film, and she pretty much hit it out of the park. If you’re looking for a soft, romantic, and just down right great photography experience – she’s your gal. We worked with a killer group of vendors, and we couldn’t have done the shoot without them. Thank you times a trillion! Here for an encore, and to kick off a season full of spring flings – our rendition of a good ol’ spring tea party.

LB PRESENTS…ALY + DAVID’S COLORADO WINTER WEDDING

well, it’s a blue bird day here in colorado and after our big snow last night, i thought – what better day to highlight aly + david’s winter wedding in beaver creek? aly was a childhood friend of hallie and lucky for LB (in CO), she decided to head out from atlanta to the rocky mountains to say her “i dos.”

we had a blast helping aly + david plan their wedding at the beaver creek chapel and the ritz-carlton,  bachelor gulch. there wasn’t much in terms of snow in the mountains before the big day, but just as the first look took place – the flakes started falling. we were dying as we peeked out to see the gorgeous couple taking pics overlooking the valley, while the snow started coming down. aly was a trooper and i think she agrees – it was totally worth freezing her gorgeous bridal butt off for the stunning pictures!

thanks to our awesome team who didn’t miss a beat – the ritz for the best customer service around, deven s. photography for capturing the day beautifully, jewels gray for flawless makeup and hair (aly’s hair was perfect the entire night – even with the falling snow), and vintage magnolia for a fresh take on aly’s gorgeous cotton and dried floral bouquet. we can’t wait for our next winter bride and groom who brave the cold, and give their guests another reason to snuggle a bit closer to the one they love.  thanks aly + david for letting us be part of your very special day!

LB Presents…Love & Lace

by kori, on february 14, 2013

happy valentine’s day LB lovelies! it’s been pretty darn cold here in colorado and southern california (50 degrees is cold for us!) so we’ve decided to turn up the heat on the one day devoted to all things love and feature some of our favorite looks for a boudoir photo session.

if you’ve never considered a boudoir session, here are a few reason why we think you should:

1. while the idea may sound scary, we believe boudoir photos are total confidence boosters. there is no denying that a day of fabulous hair, make-up, playful outfits and maybe a glass of champagne would make any lady feel lovely and beautiful.

2. SHOPPING! a boudoir photo shoot gives you the perfect opportunity to shop for those little things we’d all like to purchase but never have a reason to. we are total fans (and admittedly, slightly obsessed) of anything from intimately free people.

3. boudoir photos make the perfect gift for your boyfriend/fiance/husband, etc…or better yet, just for you!

whatever your relationship status this valentines day, treat yourself, or someone close to you with an amazingly thoughtful gift that will surely make jaws drop and hearts beat. xo.
